Tamia Lindsay49 days agoI’ve tried quite a few Indian places in Birmingham, and so far, this one is what I recommend to all my friends! This place is amazing. I normally get the lamb or chicken korma with a side of garlic naan—nutty, savory, with a hint of fruitiness from the raisins. The food always smells incredible, not to mention the portions given are very generous. I only ever get to-go so I can’t speak too much on that service-wise, but calling in is always easy and the food is always on time, hot and fresh. Love you, Taj India!! 🇮🇳Posted on Google

As a foodie, I am always chasing great flavor. This place delivered. Every bite tasted authentic, and made with care. Easily one of the best Indian meals I've had in a long time. Selena T.88 days agoFinally went to Taj India after my friends recommended it!! Taj India's food is super good. I ended up getting the butter chicken because you can't go wrong with that dish! The butter chicken was so good and it paired perfectly with rice given. The service there was great. The staff were super nice and very attentive with their tables making sure that we had everything we needed. The food came out quicker than I expected, which is a plus. The ambience of the place is also very pleasant. The light is dimmed, which makes a place easy on the eye, and the tables are set up nicely. Overall, I think Taj India is a great place to go out and eat. Their prices are not too bad I spent around $18 on my meal. I would recommend Taj India to a friend!!Posted on Google

I asked the lady in the front if the buffet changes and she says it changes every day, so it’s never the Same food, which I kinda like that, but when I come with my mindset and having butter chicken, and or Chicken Masala, it threw me off when I saw that there was nothing that I actually like, although it was OK and spice level was good nasal spicy. I’m going to try this place. One more time. She told me normally Fridays are the days they have butter chicken or Saturdays.Posted on Google

I think I've tasted almost everything on the menu, and it is all delicious. There is a great selection, and everything is very fresh! My *one* wish would be for them to post the menu each day, or maybe have a set buffet menu for each day of the week. Sometimes I really get my hopes up for a certain dish, only to find it's not on the buffet that day. However, it is hard to be disappointed when everything is so tasty!+3Posted on Google

The only issue I have noticed is that the servers can be a little slow and they seem to run out of small bowls every time I’m there. Food- I opted out of choosing the buffet (it had an assorted choice of apps and both vegetarian and proteins available- chicken) and ordered off the menu. Lamb Saag is my choice. The lamb was tender and flavorful. The spinach sauce had a pleasant kick to it. The Basmati rice was fluffy and delicious. The naan bread was mouth watering. Service- oriented for buffet style- but accommodating. Ambiance- Decorated in traditional Indian decor. Quantity- plenty of food off of menu. Buffet- speaks for itself. Chicken and lamb -- they were all so delicious! We couldn't leave out the naan and garlic naan. This was a lot of food that was made at a good pace, so the service was great and we were all delighted with the flavors and quality of our food. My helmet smelled like roses all the way home and I loved it. Indian Food in the Magic City Dinner two on Saturday evening. First visit to Taj India since relocation to Clairmont Avenue. Very easy parking. Clean well maintained dining room. Friendly, welcoming and professional staff all around. Very varied menu for drink and food. Traditional Indian items but many more not offered at other Indian restaurants in Birmingham Metro. Food came out fresh and piping hot. Everything was excellent. I especially enjoyed the chicken masaledar! Drinks, apps, entrees and desserts for under $70! Excellent quality, top value. The lunch buffet offers a variety of flavors from very savory to sweet, extra heat or cool down creamy. The staff is so friendly and keep the water and naan bread coming. We had papadam with delicious sauces to start, and super tasty food for the main course. There was plenty of choice for everyone on the extensive but varied menu - vegetarian and also with different meats. The food was great! I will say if you aren't a fan of spice just be ready. I didn't order my Tikka Masala spicy and it was definitely on the spicy side. The chicken Madras is definitely hot hot. The address in Yelp is correct though. The service was great and I ordered the Thali which was very tasty. The shock was the appetizer that came - which was enough food for a meal for two. The service is always friendly and fast as well, and it is a great place to catch up with friends, or go by yourself and try a new dish! My favorite is their korma dishes. I CRIED CRODE AND CREW A BIT BECAUSE THE FOOD REMIND ME OF AN INDIAN FRIEND I HAD WHEN I WAS AT MY LOWEST AND BROKEST AND SHE KEPT COOKING ME DELICIOUS DISHES AND SNACKS FOR ME(she used my smoothie blender for spices sometimes I was a bit annoyed at first but then I realized. We This is our second time in the new location and I really like the interior. Lots of light and space. We had the buffet and I tried a little bit of almost everything. We were served ice cold water and warm, crunchy naan. Everything was delicious. I have to be careful not to overeat! Service was wonderful as always. My wife had the vegetarian Navrattan Korma. She loved it. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala. Full of flavor with a slight residual kick. Great dish. The seating is a bit tight and the lunch rush made it feel even tighter. Employees were friendly and checked up on us frequently. This time the buffet was pea-free! The curries and naan and everything was superb. I took a star away for service because they didn’t clear the plates in a timely manner. Basically the only lunch buffet in town that isn't just straight up depressing. Attentive service, quiet atmosphere and it's well-decorated. At night saag paneer, butter chicken, anything seafood, choose a curry and some naan and you'll be happy and have leftovers. A very nice restaurant. Go.Posted on Google

The familiar lunch buffet is at the back of the restaurant near the kitchen. If you're unsure of Indian food this is the absolute best way of trying several different things to see what you like. Everything I get is always fresh and delicious, and this visit was no exception.
